Chlorine Dioxide has a long history of use in drinking water disinfection(US since 1944). It is a broad spectrum disinfectant used as a primary disinfectant in drinking water, as ClO2 kills bacteria, viruses, cysts and /algae(pseudomonas,e.coli, holera,cryptosporidium,giardia, etc…). It also prevents and removes bio-film in pipe line. Chlorine dioxide is one of four U.S. EPA disinfectants approved for potable water use. When applied at the appropriate concentrations, chlorine dioxide does not form any appreciable halogenated byproducts, and the ClO2 residual byproducts are typically within the recommended EPA limits. It is a safe and green disinfectant recommended as Class A1 Disinfectant by WHO.
For potable water treatment, ClO2 One-component-powder(CDP1) and 2-component-powder(CDP2) are recommended. 1 bag of CDP1 can treat 100Tons of water for human consumption and 1Kit of CDP2 (1bag A +1bag B) can be used for 500 tons.
